Controller Kits
Use these controllers to implement your PowerSwitch Tail projects. Choose from four programming platforms: Boarduino (Arduino clone) from Adafruit.com, Parallax BASIC Stamp BS2, Microchip PIC, or NetMedia SitePlayer. All controller outputs have LED status indicators and are buffered to drive the PowerSwitch Tails directly. Use any AC to DC power adapter having a suitable current rating (Controller board current listed plus 10 ma for each PowerSwitch Tail product energized at the same time) for power. Connect PowerSwitch Tails using standard CAT3/5 or similar cable. No 120vac voltage present on any board.
 
These are parts kits that include all parts (except as noted) and the printed circuit board. Assembly instructions are included or can be downloaded from this page. Soldering and hand tools are required for assembly. All assembled Controllers fit into the Hammond Manufacturing 1598ASGYPBK enclosure which is available from Mouser.com and DigiKey.com.
 Boarduino Controller Kit (PN 86150)
This controller kit is used with the Boarduino from Adafruit.com. Kit does not include the Boarduino module.
Drives up to 14 PowerSwitch Tails.
14 LEDs show logic state of digital pins.
Jumpers select either direct connection to digital I/O pin or buffered output.
On-board 5 volt, 1 amp power supply.
7-12 volt, 30 ma DC power required.
Boarduino module mounts in socket.
All I/O pins accessible via screw terminals.

Stamp BASIC Controller Kit (PN 83150)
This controller kit is used with a Parallax BASIC Stamp BS2 module. Kit does not include the BS2 Stamp module.
Drives up to 16 PowerSwitch Tails.
16 buffered outputs with LED indicators.
RS-232 DB-9 port for programming with PBASIC.

PIC Controller Kit (PN 84150)
This controller kit is used with a Microchip PIC16F677/685/687/689/690 MCU. Kit includes a PIC16F687 preprogrammed with a demo program.
Drives up to 16 PowerSwitch Tails.
16 buffered outputs with LED indicators.
Program with PICBasic, C or other PIC-compatible language.
ICSP/ICD header for PICKit 2.
7-12 volt, 25ma DC power required.

SitePlayer Web Controller Kit (PN 85150)
This controller kit is used with the  NetMedia's SitePlayer embedded web server module. A Microchip PIC 12F683 (included) is used to initialize and set a static IP address. Kit includes the Ethernet PHY connector and pre-programmed 12F683 PIC but does not include the SitePlayer module.
Perform remote control via web browser.
Drives up to 8 PowerSwitch Tails.
8 buffered outputs with LED indicators.
Serial interface for SitePlayer module programming.
ICSP/ICD header for reprogramming PIC with PICkit2/3 or other PIC programmer
